Rochester Personal Defense offers two packages for the 18-hour course:

New York State mandates an 18-hour training course for anyone applying for a concealed carry permit. The course is divided into two main components:

Classroom Instruction (16 Hours)

1-  All 5 NYC Boroughs (Bronx, Brooklyn, Manhattan, Queens, Staten Island), Broome, Cayuga, Chenango, Cortland, Dutchess, Erie, Genesee, Jefferson, Livingston, Madison, Monroe, Niagara, Onondaga, Ontario, Orange, Orleans, Oswego, Putnam, Schuyler, Seneca, Steuben, Sullivan, Tioga, Tompkins, Ulster, Wayne, Westchester, Wyoming, and Yates.

2-  Current license holders outside NYC, Westchester, Suffolk, or Nassau counties are exempt from this training. Residents of NYC, Westchester, Suffolk, or Nassau counties must complete the training within one year of their recertification date.
