For this class, you will need the following items:
An inert/dummy/training knife if possible
Comfortable clothing and footwear
For safety, no live weapons will be allowed in the training area. THERE ARE NO EXCEPTIONS TO THIS RULE
Edged weapons tend to be more concealable than firearms, so we all usually end up owning and carrying them. This course is for you. The one who is curious about knives and edged weapons. If you wish to discover the capabilities of one, come join us for this short series.
There are many different options out there but what knife is the best? What features make a good ‘carry knife’ and how would you use it?
This is the reason for this course. The Defensive Knife Skills 1 is meant to give you the information and basic skills to effectively carry an edged weapon and also use it to defend yourself if need be.
Concealable edged weapons are smaller, easier to hide, and usually, easier to carry into locations that you wouldn’t be able to carry a concealed handgun. They fit into pockets, purses, inside waistbands, even inside a bra! With the right knife, training, and mindset, you can add this awesome tool to your everyday life with relative ease.
This is not a ‘knife fighting’ course. This is a ‘How to fight WITH your knife’ course.
Starting on November 7 and running again on 11/14, and 11/21, this 3 week series of 2.5 hour evenings will give you the basics of what you should know when selecting, carrying, or using an edged weapon for self defense.
Then, you’ll be ready for Defensive Knife Skills 2!
