This is the second in a series of instructor development courses designed to help you- the DEFENSIVE Firearms Instructor – obtain more relevant, modern, and efficient skills to be a more effective instructor.

You are responsible for training your students to the best of you ability, as well as theirs, and sending them out into the world. At some point, they might have to use the skills you are teaching them. They will need these skills to save their lives! You cannot give them inadequate skills, allow them to use inadequate gear, or have the wrong mindset.

In this course, you will benefit from Dave’s multiple instructor development courses, (Sig Academy, Rangemaster, Handgun Combatives, etc) as well as his experience as a Training Counselor from the NRA and USCCA

Also, you will gain skill and instructional experiences from his years of training with:

– Jay Dotson, Coy Coyer, and Bill Solares at Academi
– Scott Ballard, Steve Gilcreast, Chris Cavallaro, and Scott Reidy of Sig Academy
– Gabe White from Gabe White Training
– Numerous courses from Dave Spaulding of Handgun Combatives

– SIG Handgun Master Instructor course
– Rangemaster’s Instructor course
– NRA Training Counselor
– USCCA training Counselor
– Handgun Combatives Instructor Certification under Dave Spaulding.

All of that experience – plus 25 years of training people in defensive firearms use, at your disposal for the day.

The goal is to work on and modernize your own skills to give you more confidence, help you teach current skill methodologies, refine your presentation, and to elevate you to a higher level of personal growth.

In the classroom session, you will work on delivering a more streamlined yet engaging presentation, and work on those skills to be more efficient and effective. On the range, you’d work on running a live fire course, managing shooters, learning how to stage your material and gear, set up the range to be more conducive to safety, refine your own shooting and gun handling skills to have efficient demo’s, and to learn more effective diagnostics so you can streamline your time and interaction with each shooter.

Anyone wishing to attend will be need to submit a 10 minute video of them presenting a topic. Any topic. They will also need to send a short video series of themselves on the range performing the following: Draw to first shot, reloading, malfunction clearing of a failure to fire, and reholstering. Each person will receive a customized feedback and evaluation as a result.

Class size will be limited to under 10 attendees. No more. That way, You will benefit by receiving more individualized attention and feedback.
